Demonstrating Post-Disaster Care: Meruorah, Indonesia Ferry Property, and InJourney Hospitality Distribute Emergency Relief Aid in NTT

As a tangible expression of care and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Meruorah Komodo Labuan Bajo, together with Indonesia Ferry Property (PT IFPRO) and InJourney Hospitality, organized a humanitarian initiative titled the “CSR & Employee Relief Program.” Centered on the theme “Together We Care, Together We Recover,” the activity aims to support the recovery process for employees and their communities affected by natural disasters in the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) region.

The disaster response initiative, carried out on August 21 and 22, 2026, focused aid distribution on two primary targets: the extended Meruorah family and communities in isolated areas. A joint team delivered the aid directly to residential areas and post-earthquake emergency evacuation shelters.

Recovery Support for Employee Families. Field verification by the team revealed that several Meruorah employees had family homes in the Ruteng and West Manggarai regions that sustained moderate to severe damage due to the disaster. Demonstrating its commitment to its workforce, management provided initial recovery funds to assist with home repairs and meet the victims’ urgent needs.

“This natural disaster has brought sorrow to us all, including the extended Meruorah family and the surrounding community. Driven by the spirit of ‘Together We Care, Together We Recover,’ this initiative goes beyond the mere distribution of material aid; it represents a profound expression of empathy and a moral commitment by InJourney Hospitality, Indonesia Ferry Property, and Meruorah to ensure our brothers and sisters do not face this struggle alone. We hope this support serves as a source of encouragement, boosting the morale of affected employees and residents while accelerating the recovery process so that Labuan Bajo and NTT can rise again.” Rudy Rudolf H. Butar Butar, General Manager of Meruorah Komodo Labuan Bajo.

Synergistic provision of essential aid for the village communities of employees’ families. In addition to internal response efforts, the CSR team deployed to Fohe Hamlet in Bangka Jong Village, Wae Rii District. This area was significantly affected, sheltering approximately 33 households across 14 emergency tents distributed between two relief posts.

To alleviate the burden on displaced residents, the following logistical aid was distributed:

  • Basic Food Supplies: Rice, eggs, cooking oil, mineral water, sugar, coffee, tea, and infant formula.
  • Shelter Supplies: Mats and suitable bedding.
  • Health & Sanitation Supplies: Sanitary pads, essential medicines, and eucalyptus oil.

These logistical packages and recovery support measures were funded through the company’s relief allocation—amounting to tens of millions of rupiah—demonstrating the commitment of Indonesia Ferry Property, InJourney Hospitality, and Meruorah to stand with the community in times of need.

Through their CSR and Employee Relief Programs, Meruorah Komodo Labuan Bajo, Indonesia Ferry Property, and InJourney Hospitality reaffirm their role not merely as tourism industry players, but as integral members of the NTT community, ready to work hand-in-hand during difficult times. It is hoped that this assistance will boost the victims’ morale, meet basic needs during the emergency response period, and accelerate the residents’ economic and psychological recovery.
