Real Synergy to Welcome National Children's Day 2026: PT IFPRO & Meruorah, Together with the 1630 Military District Command and the West Manggarai Regency Government, Inaugurate the Revitalization of the Gorontalo Elementary School's Educational Space

In commemoration of National Children’s Day 2026, PT Indonesia Ferry Property (IFPRO), together with Meruorah Komodo Labuan Bajo and KODIM 1630 West Manggarai, officially handed over the results of their Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSR) program, which involved the revitalization of an educational space at the Gorontalo State Elementary School (SDN) in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai. This CSR activity represents a concrete manifestation of cross-sector collaboration and synergy between the business community, elements of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and the full support of the West Manggarai Regency Government and the school.

The program, titled “Love Children, Protect and Build the Future” aims to transform previously unsuitable learning facilities into clean, safe, comfortable, and child-friendly educational spaces. The remodeling included roof replacement, interior renovations, plaster wall repairs, column structure repairs, room ceiling repairs, terrace ceiling replacement, installation of ceramic tiles for the terrace, lighting, air circulation, interior and exterior wall painting, bookshelves, ergonomic study tables and chairs, and window and door frames.

The inauguration ceremony began with a welcoming ceremony for the management team and invited guests, followed by a group prayer, and continued with the symbolic cut the ribbon and the signing of the Handover Report (BAST). The culminating event was a site inspection of the revitalized library space with invited guests, teachers, and students from Gorontalo Elementary School.

“This Educational Space Revitalization CSR program demonstrates our ongoing commitment from Meruorah Komodo Labuan Bajo and PT IFPRO to continue making a real positive impact on the local community. On National Children’s Day 2026, we want to ensure that children, as valuable assets for the future, have a suitable, safe, and inspiring learning space. Our close collaboration with the 1630 Military District Command (Kodim), the West Manggarai Regency Government, and Gorontalo Elementary School proves that when all stakeholders work together, we can accelerate improvements in the quality of education in Labuan Bajo,” said Rudy Rudolf H. Butar Butar, General Manager of Meruorah Komodo Labuan Bajo.

“The 1630 West Manggarai Military District Command (Kodim) is very proud to actively participate in this TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces) unity initiative with the community and the business world. Providing adequate educational facilities and infrastructure is the best investment in safeguarding and nurturing the future of the nation’s young generation. We hope that these revitalized facilities can be jointly maintained and provide the widest possible sustainable benefits for the teaching and learning process of our students,” said Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Budiman Manurung, S.E., M.I.P., Commander of the 1630 West Manggarai Military District Command (Dandim).

“On behalf of the SDN Gorontalo family, we extend our deepest gratitude to Meruorah Komodo Labuan Bajo, PT IFPRO, Kodim 1630, and the West Manggarai Regency Government. The transformation of this educational space is truly extraordinary, transforming a previously unsuitable space into a beautiful, clean, and comfortable library and classroom. The happy smiles and enthusiasm of the children today are proof of how meaningful this assistance is for their educational future,” said Mrs. Sukawati, Principal of SDN Gorontalo Labuan Bajo.

“The West Manggarai Regency Government expresses its highest appreciation and gratitude for this noble initiative and collaboration. Regional development in the education sector cannot move alone; it requires the active involvement and synergy of the private sector and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI). The presence of this new classroom and library at SDN Gorontalo is a special gift for National Children’s Day 2026, which will enhance the enthusiasm for learning and the quality of education for our children in West Manggarai,” said Dr. dr. Yulianus Weng, M.Kes., Deputy Regent of West Manggarai.

A Sustainable Commitment & an Invitation to the Future of Education

Education is the primary foundation for character development, regional progress, and the future of the nation. Amidst Labuan Bajo’s rapid development as a super-priority tourism destination, preparing local youth through quality education is key to enabling them to become competitive hosts in their homeland. Through the momentum of National Children’s Day 2026, PT IFPRO and Meruorah Komodo Labuan Bajo reaffirm their commitment to not only be present as players in the tourism industry, but also as active partners, consistently fostering the growth and well-being of the local community.

We invite all elements of society, including business actors, non-governmental organizations, and government institutions, to continue working together to place a strong emphasis on education in West Manggarai. Let’s make every learning space a place where big dreams are born, and together, nurture the hopes of Labuan Bajo’s children to realize a golden generation of Indonesia that excels, has character, and is globally competitive.
